Luke Combs: Dive Bars to Country Star
TV-PG | 45 min | 2025
Rejected by “The Voice,” Luke Combs proved them wrong—his soulful country-pop sound earned 16 straight No. 1 hits and two CMA Entertainer of the Year awards.
He was rejected by producers of “The Voice” for a story that not compelling enough for TV. Luke Albert Combs had a humble start as an only child in Huntersville, North Carolina. He sang in the school chorus and church choir. As an Appalachian State dropout, he moved from campus bar bouncer to the Parthenon Cafe stage. Comb's deep, soulful sound would blend traditional country with a modern pop twist. At age 21 he learned guitar and wrote his own lyrics. Soon 16 number one consecutive hits would follow. He was twice voted CMA Entertainer of the Year. Luke clearly proved the experts wrong.
